The Tabernacle Prayer
The tabernacle prayer was developed by Pastor Yonggi Cho, of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (a 1 million member church in South Korea), and is based on the tabernacle in the wilderness. Each piece of furniture in the tabernacle holds certain significance to the walk of the believer.

The prayer then, involves journeying through the tabernacle and praying at each station. The furniture in the outer courts is for the cleansing of the believer. The furniture in the holy place is for personal empowerment. Your destination is the holy of holies. When you finally arrive there your prayers will shift from self empowerment to worship and intercession, symbolized by the altar of incense and the Ark of the Covenant.

Finally, the tabernacle prayer is designed to help believers who struggle praying for an hour to do so with relative ease Matt. 26:40. It is effective because it satisfies both the need for fellowship with God and intercession for others.

Do not limit yourself to just an hour, pray for as long as you can. However, to keep it to an hour you should try to reach the altar of incense after about a half an hour. This will give you ample time for intercession. As you become proficient in the tabernacle prayer, you will be able to move from station to station satisfying both the need for fellowship and task in your prayer with joy and great comfort. The Stations Of The Tabernacle Are As Follows:

1. THE BRAZEN ALTAR. (Exodus 20:24-26, 27:1-8)
   1. The Altar Is a Type of The Cross
      • The altar is a place of sacrifice and bloodshed
      • The cross is a place of sacrifice and blood shed
   2. At The Brazen Altar You Give Thanks For The Blood and Sacrifice Of Jesus (Heb 12:23-24)
   3. The More You Learn About The Blood The More Time You Can Spend At The Brazen Altar¹
2. THE BRONZE LAVER (WASH BASIN)
   1. At The Laver You Pause For Reflection And Cleansing
      • For a priest, the daily washing was essential; it brings into focus the righteousness that we should walk in.
      • As God's holy nation, royal priesthood and special people we need a daily cleansing.
   2. Some Areas Of Cleansing Are:²
      • Our hearts - from unforgiveness, impure motives, and ungodly passions
      • Our minds - from vain imaginations, and impure thoughts, fear and areas of unbelief
      • Our tongues - from lying, gossip, slander, murmuring, judgments, backbiting, and negative confessions.
      • Our hands - from dead works, things done out of God's will, sins of omission and sins of commission
      • Our feet - from walking in pride, self-will, deception, and egregious error
3. THE GOLDEN LAMPSTAND - the Holy Place
   1. The Golden Lampstand Can Serve As a Type Of The Holy Spirit's Manifestation & Anointing
      • The oil in the lamp was not allowed to run out, and the lamp had to burn continually. It was the priest's responsibility to trim and oil it daily.
      • As believers, we need to continually be filled with the Spirit for effective service and victorious living (Eph. 5:18)
   2. There Are Seven Prongs On The Lamp; Representing The Seven-Fold Anointing Of The Spirit (Isaiah 11:1-3). This is the Anointing of Jesus Christ.³
      • The Spirit of the Lord - receive Him, worship Him and Acknowledge Him (See David)
      • The Spirit of Wisdom - to obtain good success in life; to deal with the daily challenges that will come (See Solomon)
      • The Spirit of Knowledge - to receive and to impart knowledge to others (See the Apostle Paul)
      • The Spirit of Understanding - to discern good from evil; to uncover deception; to understand the true nature of things (See Daniel)
      • The Spirit of Good Counsel - for yourself and for those who depend on you (See Solomon)
      • The Spirit of Power & Might - to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast our demons and the working of miracles (See Elijah)
      • The Spirit of The fear of the Lord - to keeps us from presumptuous sin; to walk in true holiness even when no one is looking (See Job)
4. THE TABLE OF THE SHEWBREAD - a type of the Word of God
   1. The Bread Had To Remain Fresh
      • We need a fresh Word of revelation everyday
      • Jesus taught us to ask the Father for our daily bread
   2. If You Wish You May Take Time Out Here To Read A Pre-selected Portion Of Scripture.
      • Thank God for His Word
      • Reverence the Word
      • Take your time and read it contemplatively
      • Ask God to reveal the hidden manna to you
   3. Another Option Is To Have A Series Of Prewritten Confessions From God's Word That You Can Read Out Loud Under The Anointing.⁴
      • Confessing God's promises is a powerful and effective form of warfare
      • Making declarations in the spirit
      • The Holy Spirit Honors the Word when spoken in faith
      • Make warfare with the words of prophecy given to you. This too is an appropriate action to take at the table of the shewbread.
5. THE ALTAR OF INCENSE
   1. This is A Place Of Worship & Intercession
      • The priest could not look directly upon the Ark of The Covenant, so they had to create a thick smoke by pouring the incense upon the burning coal
      • The smoke is a type of worship and intercession.
   2. At This Place You Begin To Glorify God.
      • Sing His praises
      • Declare His holiness
      • Dance, bow, read a Psalm of praise out loud if you wish - just worship Him now!
   3. Envision Your Worship Opening The Veil To The Holy of Holies
6. THE HOLY OF HOLIES
   1. The Ark Of The Covenant & The Mercy Seat Is The Very Throne Of God
      • Now that you have entered His presence, make your requests known to Him
      • Take out your prayer list and carefully go through it
      • Pray for the salvation of specific people - call their names
      • Pray for your pastor
      • Pray for your country - the president and other leaders
      • Pray for the schools
      • Stand in the gap for the needs of others around you - you are a priest and an intercessor!
   2. After Interceding Be Still In His Presence
      • God will speak to you
      • He will give you visions, direction, correction, inspiration etc.,

1	Sometimes you may wish to focus on the cross instead of the blood. This is also effective and requires deeper knowledge of the power of the cross. Some appropriate texts: 2Cor 5:21; 8:9; Heb 12:24; Isa. 53:5 etc.
2	As The Holy Spirit brings specific things to your mind, submit them to be cleansed before you go into the Holy Place.
3	After You Have Prayed These Anointings into Your Life, give thanks and pray in the Spirit for a while. Praying in the Spirit stirs and activates the anointing.
4	now you are cleanse and empowered. Your prayers now shift from self-focus to worship. And worship evolves into intercession in to Holy of Holies.
